Essentials of Instruction
The SCMS School Store opened for business for the 2017-2018 on Wednesday, September 6th.
SCMS Teachers have begun a 15 Week Professional Development Workshop called The Essentials of Instruction. It will feature essential elements of instruction including the use of objectives, anchor/anticipatory strategies, student engagement, formative assessment, closure, and effective lesson planning. The workshop will be offered on the following Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm:09/06, 09/13, 09/20, 09/27, 10/04, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/01, 11/08, 11/15, 11/29, 12/06, 12/13, 12/20
Family Fun Run
Coach Johnson and SCMS Cross Country Team are preparing for the 2nd Annual District 8 Family Fun Run at Spring Lake Park on Saturday, September 30th, at 10:30am. Please make plans with your family to attend.
Off to a great start!
The school year started off without a hitch. We were proud to welcome all of our returning students, and a bunch of new smiling faces to the SCMS community. Last year we ended the school year with an enrollment of 98 students. This year our enrollment is up to 118. To accommodate these new students we had to order more curriculum materials, desks, and lockers.
We are back into the swing of things with our school store opening this past week, our student council elections coming up next week, and our first incentive day planned for the end of the month.
